Teaming up with Birch Bark Coffee to end the First Nations Water Crisis

Sapling & Flint is proud to team up with the Birch Bark Coffee Company to help bring an end to the First Nations' water crisis in Canada.

In Canada, a first world country that was recently ranked #1 in the world for quality of life by US News & World Report, over 153 First Nations communities continue to live in third world living conditions with boil water advisories, many that are decades-long. As many as 270,000 Indigenous people in Canada are living with water that is undrinkable. For many First Nations children, they have yet to experience a drink of water that did not come out of a plastic bottle.

Clean water means water you can brush your teeth in, bathe in, cook in. The government of Canada made a commitment to end the water crisis for First Nations by 2021; and as business owners we are keeping them to their commitment.

Sapling & Flint is proud to partner with the Birch Bark Coffee Company to serve as an official retailer of their coffee products!! We are the first retailers of BBC products in Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. Every bag of their delicious coffee sold contributes to the purchase & installation of a certified Belkraft water purification system into a First Nations home, at no charge to the recipient!

Birch Bark Coffee Company is owned by Mark Marsolais-Nahwegabow, a member of Waterfish River First Nation in Birch Island, Ontario. Birch Bark Coffee is proudly roasted & packaged in Canada.

Stop by the Sapling & Flint Gallery in the village of Ohsweken to check out what coffee products we have available in-store, or buy your beans (whole & ground) directly from BBCC at their website buy clicking here.

WATER IS A FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHT; with your support we can end the water crisis in Canada!!
