Crowned Heart Studs
Crowned Heart studs are an elegant, modern trade on 18th-century Trade Silver brooch designs that were fashionably prevalent across North American Indigenous and European trade routes.
Recognized as a "heart" design by Europeans; North Americans viewed the design as an owl and would wear these brooches as protection amulets. Haudenosaunee men would often gift them to their sweethearts; upon the birth of their babies the brooches would be hung from cradleboards and nursery beds for protection.
ABOUT: At 0.5inches and less than 1gm, these casted hearts are light-weight sterling silver, with sterling silver studs that are hand-crafted in our studio.
